Our system is designed to preserve the original character of your music. It uses narrow-band processing that targets only AI artifacts, with automatic loudness matching to maintain the original volume level. However, some minor spectral changes are inevitable — that’s what makes the AI fingerprint undetectable.
Yes — this step is required, not optional. artefactFX performs AI artifact removal, not mastering. Cleaning strips the AI fingerprint, but the output is a pre-master, not a finished, release-ready file. Run it through your usual mastering chain (EQ, compression, limiting, loudness) or send it to a mastering engineer before you distribute it.
Honest answer: not on every single track. The result depends on the file itself and on which AI tool generated it — some sources leave a stronger, harder-to-remove fingerprint. For the large majority of tracks the score drops well below 40%, but in roughly 5% of cases it can stay above 50% no matter how we process it. That's a limitation of the source material, not a fault in our processing, so we can't promise a sub-40% result on 100% of files. Even in those cases, a proper master after cleaning often pushes a borderline track past detection — another reason to always master the cleaned file before judging the final result or releasing it.
